It holds a set of flat seashells in it.
A pic. of her @ the beach playing w/ a sand castle inspired this project.

Emma's shell gift

I Modge Podge mulberry paper that had leaves & coconut fiber in it on the can.My friend Russ gave me these scraps & it sure fit my beach theme. It really gave the can a textured feel.the can holds small seashell collection.

No more C-mas cards!!!

I'm getting sick of making C-mas cards. I'm still plugging away on my custom made family cards. My idea was to make e/one a custom card since I don't have time to make a present. I hope I don't regret this & it just get thrown in a corner. I have spent alto of time on these.
I have used red line tape w/ glitter
2,my first easel card which has taken me 2 years to do. I have a spatial relationship problem. I had to print out the directions for the measurements. after I made it I understood the concept better. I made an improvised one for Emma since i glue the pic on the wrong side of the card.
3,gateway fold for Katya's card
4 pamphlet fold
5.distressing & tearing uneven edges
6 brayer w/ Big & Juicy pad for a sky
7.watercolor wash w/ color pencil for l/house stamp
8 learned how to mask image w/ the masking tape
I can't post the pic's here since they haven't been mailed yet. My cards can be found on Papercrafterplanet
for those not in my family.
Toby's book taking more time than expected. I didn't want to pay $5? etc for a c/board book plus s&h. they are hard to find in El Paso. DH cut out 8 4x4 pieces for me to use from a cereal box. I had to cover both sides of the pieces. They have been under the book press x3 to dry. I still have to write on the titles, color in the letters on the cover,Mod Podge it so the paper looks neater, & then tape it together. A lot of drying time on this projects. It has images of trucks & trains on it.
I still have 3 more family members cards to work on this week.

My hands hurt!!!

For 2 days my hands really hurt!!! My D.C. had to adjust my hands & wrists . I put them out working on Laura's baby book. I sorted out her baby pic's from the rest of our pic's during the heat of the summer. I decided to reuse the photo album since the rings were in good shape. I recovered the book in some wild zebra paper. I distressed it w/ Ranger Walnut ink. I then used some of Allen's silver duct tape to bind the paper to the cover. She likes wierd things. I modPodge the paper so it it will wear & not tear. I had to cut strips of cardstock to fit the album so I can journal the pic's. It will hold 3 journal stamp entries. The wood stamp is pretty big for me to press down & stamp. I have over 80 pic's to journal. I got about 60 of them stamped before my hands couldn't take it anymore.
I am making this for her C-mas present since no money for C-mas this year w/ HP salary cuts
I 'm starting to journal some of the entries a few @ a time. I used some old baby stickers I found in my sticker album

Katya' altered box done

To keep busy before the test I made Katya a rock box for her b-day. I used pink, purple Mulberry paper. It took 3 layers,so the cigar box writing wouldn't showup. I Modge Podge some Hello Kitty stickers and cut out b-flies on it.I don't think the box is going to fall apart any time soon . Inside is a polished rock collection I gave her.
Now to come up w/an idea on how to display my seashell collection for Emma for a gift?
Made my friend Swat an Oriental card for late b-day. She called yesterday and said it's was so beautiful. Stamped up a bunch of Oriental images for later use. I finally got out Heidi's borrowed Oriental stamps and my new clear Oriental ones to stamp . Some I embossed to make them look elegant, others I used red ink on black paper since the Chinese use alot of red in their images.
Some I want to go back and color in w/ my pencils on details. I want to make up a set for a b-day gift and another to use myself
