We have alot of dust storms coming in w/ winds from 55mph up to 75 mph. It has brought cooler temps. a few times. I take the cool days all they will give me. I even made egg custard 3 more times than normally I can make it. I luv eating it for an early am treat when I put the dogs out to the brm.
I made 3rd batch of granola bars. I tried choc. chips, macadamia nuts chopped up,(got too fine), & dried cranberries. They are yummy. I had to hide the 2nd tin of them in the frig. I ate about most of the 1st tin.
I also tried chocolate truffles made w/ cashew butter ,agave,& cashews. Didn't like the taste of them rolled in cocoa powder. It could Penzeys cocoa pretty strong vs Hershey's
Glaze put on my last cearmaic piece, goes for 2nd firing. It's a southwest Wedding jar I started a year ago for Allens gift for our 30th anniversary. My friend ,Summer helped paint the tree branches. Then this week she glazed the top part for me. I gave her all my underglazes, Sandstar paints & glazes. This way I won't be reminded of what I can't do anymore. Sadly this will be our last time together. Her DH is leaving the Navy after 10 yrs. They will be moving up to Oregon w/ their 5 kids. I will really miss her,the time we spent together, tals on the phone & her kids.

Signo white gel pen
I have been looking for months for these. I have seen them talked about on s/bk threads I finally did a search for them online since I can't turned them up in El Paso. I needed a white pen to finish up Forest pages. I didn't like the Souffle white pen,it takes too long for the ink to come out. Plus the refills are hard to find w/o buying the set. The white Glaze pen is too transparent to write with on tags.
I'm pleased they write real well, don't skip, leave blops of ink behind, doesn't take forever to write with. They write like a regular pen,the flow is good, leaves a thin line since it's fine point.
I also ordered the gold pen to try it out. I have had a hard time finding a true gold ink in a pen,not a felt marker that leaves a wide line. Again it flows smoothly, writes a thin line.
I used it also to outline some die cuts to make it stand out. I like the way the white ink set up when dried

Wouldn't let me post
I couldn't post my labels so It wouldn't let me publish my paragraph
As U can see I experimented w/ al ot of different media this summer so I could save my sanity sitting in front of my window a/c unit during the heat of the day. I' starting to put some of these together for cards.
i also used some of my b-day money to buy new colors Prism has putted out. W/ Allen's protests I also replaced some of the colors I really chewed up. Dick Bik had them for.95. HL didn't have some of these colors. Their pencils have gone up to $1.49. I had to pay s&h so I want ed to order only once. I had Laura go in w/ me since she couldn't find scratch board. That cut my s&h down in 1/2 to save money.
Now if I can only get some more energy & it cool down I can get my floral cards & finish up my Dustin Pike cards for my swaps etc done then I can start on s/bk projects. Since Forest & Laura have b-days coming up this fall, I can save money on postage if I finish their gifts. Forest will be his b-day fro m 1 to 15 yrs old. Laura's will her baby pic's when we lived in Conn. It will have pic's of her g-father,gr.g/mother & uncle who are now dead holding her as a baby. i just hope my health will hold out so I can record these events for my kids to have. My biggest fear I have brain damage etc, I won't be able to remember the stories behind the pic's. Besides money for C-mas is non exisent so I need to come up items I can make w/stuff here in the house.
